November Beauty Inspiration: Lauren Conrad

Ever since the days of MTV’s launch of Laguna Beach, Ms Conrad has been a beauty inspiration of mine. She has a knack for enhancing her natural beauty, rather than masking it under a mountain of over-the-top makeup.

She is all for looking after herself and maintaining her lady-like poise and class; the mantra “beauty stems from within” definitely pops into mind.

For Lauren’s signature ‘natural’ look, stick to the makeup basics.

  • Invest in a good primer and light foundation that matches your shade

  • Only use powder as necessary.

  • Apply mascara sparingly

  • Keep any colours (blush & lip) neutral and complementary to your skin shade

Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation Review

"A match so perfect it’s undetectable in any light! Light Perfecting Radiance foundation, traceless coverage and perfectly flawless skin under any light. Lasts all day SPF 18."

Well, it isn’t called ‘match perfection’ for nothing. This is the only foundation I’ve been able to find that matches my skin tone perfectly (I used ‘Ivory’). With 12 shades to select from, you’re bound to find your perfect colour, without breaking the bank (AU$17.95).

However, I was a little disappointed when it came coverage and its longevity. This foundation only offers a light to medium coverage and after 2 hours of wear, my face became oily. I was able to fix it with some powder so, unless you have dry skin, you’re probably better off teaming a powder with this one.

  • Match: Perfect 5/5

  • Coverage: Light-Med 3.5/5

  • Price: AU$17.95 4.5/5

  • Wear: Average 3.5/5
Overall: 4.1/5
